Hakaway supported the technology delivery for Bulgari Hotel Roma, combining the demands of an ultra-luxury five-star hotel with Bulgari’s exceptionally high technology standards and the constraints of a landmark historic building.
Delivering technology at this level goes far beyond standard hotel infrastructure. The project involved sophisticated in-room technology and domotic solutions, together with the extensive integrations required to create a seamless guest experience while meeting Bulgari’s exacting brand and operational requirements.
The complexity was amplified by the building itself. The hotel occupies a historic property in Piazza Augusto Imperatore, originally built in the 1930s, whose transformation required the careful integration of modern infrastructure and technology while preserving the character and historic façade of the building.
Hakaway worked across the technology scope, coordinating requirements, systems and stakeholders and helping bridge the gap between design intent, brand standards, specialist technology providers and the realities of implementation within a complex refurbishment.
The result is a technology environment designed to operate discreetly behind one of the world’s most sophisticated luxury hospitality experiences — combining advanced systems, complex room automation and operational reliability without compromising the architectural integrity of the property.
In 2024, Bulgari Hotel Roma was named Best Hotel in the World by Virtuoso Traveler — recognition of the exceptional standards achieved across every aspect of the hotel.
